If you have lived in a bigger city like Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles, you've seen it all (and by all, we mean all). Sure, there are benefits of living in a big city like access to tons of different kinds of food, great public transportation, and the ability to find something to do at all hours of the night. But with the positivities also come a fair share of negatives like high amounts of traffic (both foot and car), pests like mice making their way through alleyways which sometimes include your building, and in one NYC resident's case, waking up to their entire kitchen on the floor.

If you've ever lived in a city like New York, you are undoubtedly very familiar with the term "landlord special." For all of you folks who own your own home, the landlord special refers to any janky repair job made to a rental unit by a property owner. The perfect example? When one of my former building supers told me he could just paint over active mold as water was still dripping from my bedroom wall.

    The Ultimate Landlord Special

In @ dearmomsorryforbeingab 's case, it was when she woke up to her entire kitchen on the floor of her apartment. Yesterday around 5 a.m. Christine and her boyfriend woke up to a crashing sound coming from their kitchen.

"Everything that was on our wall including the microwave and all of our cabinets including every single thing that we own that has any sort of porcelain or glass quality fell off of the wall and shattered onto the floor at 5 o'clock in the morning," Christine said in a recent update video.

    What a Disaster

"It was so horrifying that my boyfriend and I lept up and held each other — we thought the entire place was coming down," she said. "We thought there was an intruder or an attacker and it was the loudest, most concerning, scary sound."

While Christine said the landlord doesn't have any plans set to fix the space as of now, they are having a cleaner come to pick up the cabinets and get rid of all the sharp glass pieces that feel. The commentators on this video were going wild and advising the renters to ask for a brand-new kitchen , lowered rent, compensation for all of the meals they will have to eat out while their kitchen is being renovated, and more!
