If you live in certain parts of the United States, there's a good chance that you don't get to see architecture preserved through the decades — or longer — the way it's more common in other areas. Living in the suburbs in the southern US, most of what I see is relatively new buildings and cookie cutter neighborhood developments, and while those things can certainly be beautiful, it's not quite what you'd find in more urban areas of the country, especially those parts where more history can be found.

For example, NYC, which is home to certain buildings that have been standing for hundreds of years. Some of those buildings are now offices or restaurants or hotels, and others remain perfectly preserved homes... for a price, of course.

In this video that was shared by @streeteasy on Thursday, April 18, we get to see a really cool and absolutely stunning building in New York City that is now for sale (at an extremely hefty price, unsurprisingly).

This Gilded Age mansion looks like it's straight out of The Great Gatsby. It was built in 1897 and covers nearly 12,000 square feet — a rarity in NYC no matter what era the building happens to be from!

Right away, the vibes at this place are absolutely immaculate. It's giving off a very "old money" energy both inside and out, from the iron gates that maintain the residents' privacy to the stained glass windows inside. It's hard to believe that this home is a whopping six stories tall!

It also comes with some really cool features, like a working elevator and a secret bar. Wait — a home speakeasy? Sign me up!

More About this Gilded Age Dream Home

If you want to move in, join the club... and I hope you're ready to splurge. This mansion is on the market for a cool $11 million... I can't even imagine what that mortgage would look like, and I don't want to try.

You can learn more about the property at the listing here, which is packed with more photos that will probably only serve to make you fall even more in love with the place.

While the mansion did start its life as a single family home, the 31 rooms inside are now divvied up into nine different apartments, so for the right investor, this could really be a goldmine... as long as they have the cash to shell out.

If I can't live here, can I at least be invited to a Gatsby themed party here? A girl can certainly dream!
