Land O’ Lakes freshman easing into the entrepreneurial world
LAND O’ LAKES — Davina Horowitz hopes her entrepreneur invention will stick. The freshman at the Angeline Academy of Innovation was the recent winner of the Pasco County School District’s Young Entrepreneurship Competition thanks to her prototype medical device. After she wowed judges at three different levels, Horowitz was awarded $2,500 in grant money to perfect and patent her device in the hopes of getting it onto the market, as well as into hospitals and clinics.

TAMPA — AdventHealth hospitals in Pasco and Hillsborough counties have earned “A”s for hospital safety from a national nonprofit watchdog. AdventHealth Carrollwood, along with all AdventHealth hospitals in Pasco County, including AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, AdventHealth Dade City and AdventHealth Zephyrhills, received the high marks in a report released May 1 by the Leapfrog Group.
