Pa. woman’s conviction for fatally poisoning her husband, depleting his assets is affirmed
LEWISBURG — The first-degree murder conviction of a Union County woman found to have fatally poisoned her husband in 2018 has been affirmed. “The jury’s verdict in all aspects is supported by the evidence and does not shock the court’s sense of justice,” specially assigned Lehigh County Senior Judge Edward R. Reibman wrote in an opinion issued Monday.

Scouts, volunteers make sure veterans’ graves have new flags for holiday
Around two dozen Scouts, their families and a dozen veterans did their annual part Tuesday evening to dress up veterans’ graves before Memorial Day weekend. The group replaced flags at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville before visiting five other cemeteries, according to Doug Resseguie, retired Montour County Veterans Affairs coordinator. Last year, the group replaced 1,100 flags at Odd Fellows alone and about 325 more at Fairview Cemetery, Resseguie said.

Selinsgrove, Pa. — A baseball coach was charged after he allegedly assaulted a female police officer and tried to flee. Officer Elizabeth Shampanore of Selinsgrove Police Department was hit in the face on May 7 by Sadler Wesley Rogers, 34, of Lewisburg, as he tried to avoid being detained at the baseball field at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, according to police.
