DETROIT – Team Metro Detroit is off to a hot start in the 2024 National Golden Gloves with eight wins through days two and three. The tournament in downtown Detroit, featuring over 300 of the best amateur boxers from around the nation, is hosted by The Metro Detroit Golden Gloves and Downtown Boxing Gym from May 13 to 18 at Huntington Place.
Michigan football announces two-game series with Eastern Michigan beginning in 2027
The battle for Washtenaw County has been renewed on the gridiron. The Michigan football program announced plans for a two-game series against its southeast Michigan foe, Eastern Michigan University, coming in just a few years: The first game is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2027, and the second is scheduled to be played Sept. 7, 2030. Kickoff times for both are to be announced.

Monroe County Community College's RT team heading to national Sputum Bowl
MONROE — The Monroe County Community College Respiratory Program team again earned a state title in the annual Michigan Sputum Bowl, a timed quiz competition similar to the game show "Jeopardy!" The win qualifies the MCCC team to compete in November at the national level in the American Association for Respiratory Care’s (AARC’s) National Sputum Bowl in Orlando.
