Laporte hit the ball hard against host Blackduck Thursday night but they just couldn’t string together enough hits in a 7-1. The Wildcats had 13 hits with Hannah Backus and Macey Morris leading the team with three each. Anna Katzenmeyer, Aubree Katzenmeyer and Lilly Ewert each had two. LongBow Ladies Golf League May 8 Report
It’s finally golf season and the first day was under bright sunshine with shirtsleeve temperatures. The LongBow Ladies Golf League kicked off its 18-week season with a brunch at the Birchwood Char House in Hackensack May 8. The brunch and meeting was attended by 16 women, including two new members. At noon, 13 members teed off in a shotgun start at LongBow for an 18-hole best ball scramble. Winners with a 77 was a foursome of Mary Hagelie, Louise Hay, Dianne Larson and Cathy Wierzbicki.
