Over the years, this tradition has grown to include an increasing number of volunteers, ranging from Post Family members to local students and community volunteers.

This annual event will take place in Glendola and St. Anne Cemeteries on Belmar Blvd in Glendola, Wall Township and will extend to Hamilton and St. George Greek Cemeteries in Neptune.

Neptune Township Deputy Mayor Robert Lane expressed his admiration for Post 346's recognition and honoring of local veterans.

“My family has a long history in Neptune. I have had a lot of family members and close friends who served our country faithfully and proudly. I believe when and where possible we should be honoring our veterans,” Deputy Mayor Lane said, adding, “The sacrifices that they made for our country should be noted and thanked. That’s why as the deputy mayor this year again we wanted to continue with our Hometown Hero Banner Program to honor those veterans here in Neptune.”
