Are motorcycle crashes on the rise in the Hudson Valley, New York?
Memorial Day weekend serves for some as the unofficial start to summer . It also marks the start of a dangerous season on the road. On Friday, May 31, one person died and one person was seriously injured after two separate motorcycle crashes Friday in Putnam County. There appears to be an uptick in motorcycle crashes on area roadways in the last couple of weeks.
Somers Youth Focus: Bridging the Gap at Rhinoceros Creek
SOMERS, N.Y. - Andrew Marzella, a Life Scout in Somers Troop 228, has been hard at work fulfilling the requirements to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He recently completed his Eagle Scout Project at the Rhinoceros Creek Reservation in Somers. Marzella’s project consisted of clearing a large area of invasive species and building an arched bridge. The new bridge allows visitors easy access to newly installed park benches along the waterfront. Republican Primary debate for 100th Assembly district (VIDEO)
LIBERTY- The Republican candidates for the 100th Assembly district faced off in an hour-long debate to discuss who would be better suited to take on Democrat Paula Kay this November in an attempt to flip the seat from blue-to-red. The 100th Assembly district, which includes portions of Sullivan County as well as the Town of Wallkill and City of Middletown in Orange County, has been represented for more than two decades by Democrat Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther of Forestburgh.
Newburgh school board proposes reduced budget ahead of revote
NEWBURGH- After its initial budget was defeated by just 95 votes on May 21st, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education worked with district administration to craft a revised budget proposal that will be considered by voters on June 18th. Newburgh’s school budget was the only Orange County school budget to fail this year.
