A former Tennessee Vols player who once "helped" UT win a game after he transferred landed with the New Orleans Saints in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Saints selected Pittsburgh wide receiver Bub Means with the No. 170 overall pick (Round Five) of this year's draft.

Means started his career as a cornerback at Tennessee in 2019 before transferring to Louisiana Tech. Means spent his final two college seasons at Pittsburgh, where he caught 68 passes for 1,122 yards, and eight touchdowns between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

In 2022, Means had a pass go off his hands in Pittsburgh's loss to Tennessee that landed in Vols safety Trevon Flowers' hands in the end zone.

The Panthers had a 10-0 lead at the time and it looked like they were about to go up 17-0. The interception gave the Vols some momentum and they eventually won the game in overtime.

That was a tough break for Means, but it helped the Vols get a much-needed win to start what turned out to be a memorable 2022 season in East Tennessee.
