Ariel Antigua discusses first career start at Tennessee

No. 5 Tennessee (22-4, 3-3 SEC) defeated Tennessee Tech (13-12, 1-2 OVC), 11-1 in seven innings, on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Rankings reflect the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll.

The contest ended in a run-rule decision.

Freshman shortstop Ariel Antigua made his first career start for the Vols on Tuesday. He missed time during the 2024 season due to a hand injury.

Antigua tied the Vols’ single-game program record with nine assists against Tennessee Tech. He also recorded one putout in the run-rule victory.

The 5-foot-8, 184-pound shortstop went 0-for-3 in the contest.
