Woman Arrested in Connection with Shooting Of Ex-Husband and Girlfriend

Collier County, FL - Detectives have announced the arrest of a Southwest Florida woman who allegedly aided two men involved in the 2023 shooting of her ex-husband and his girlfriend.

Collier County detectives arrested 37-year-old Rebecca Zeldi Gabay for her alleged role in the June 1st, 2023 shooting of Scotty McCandless and Amy Chesser.

The couple were attacked while traveling on Immokalee Road near Twin Eagles Boulevard in Naples.

Gabay is accused of aiding the suspects, identified as 29-year-old Julian Mendes-Wolf and 39-year-old Ryan Toranzo, in the shooting.

Both men currently face charges of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Authorities believe Gabay's involvement extends beyond the shooting, with prior charges of interference with custody and concealing minors.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has been conducting a thorough investigation, including interviews, subpoenas, search warrants, and digital evidence analysis.

Gabay has been charged withj accessory after the fact to attempted murder, a second-degree felony.
