The family of a Las Vegas woman shot dead by her former father-in-law has revealed chilling text threats allegedly sent by her ex-husband, the killer’s son – including one saying, “I don’t want to see you unless you’re in a casket.”

Ashley Prince, 30, and her husband Dennis Prince, 57, a well-known attorney, were gunned down by Joseph Houston II, 77, also a lawyer, during an April 8 deposition at the Prince Law Group’s office.

The deposition involved two kids whom Ashley shared with her ex-husband, lawyer Dylan Edward Houston, who was being represented by his father.

The elder Houston, who had terminal cancer, killed himself after shooting the couple, officials said.

Ashley’s father, Paul Page, has alleged that Dylan Houston had subjected her to verbal and mental abuse and chilling threats in the past two years amid the bitter child custody over their two young kids.

She faced “relentless harassing death threats and threatening verbal abuse, including up to 70 text messages a day at times,” Page said during a press conference this week, the Review Journal reported .

“Dylan texted Ashley, ‘Prepare for a future on your knees, and I will chisel you down to a weaker and worthless sack of bones,’” Page read, according to Fox 5 Vegas .

In another message, the grieving father said Dylan texted Ashley: “And I’ll crush you in ways you don’t even comprehend, and lastly, I don’t want to see you unless you’re in a casket.”

Five days before the shooting, Dylan emailed Dennis: “You have no idea what’s coming do you, all your cards are on the table and I haven’t played one <laughing emoji>,” according to documents 8 News Now obtained .

Dylan was required to take Breathalyzer tests before spending time with the kids, according to court documents cited by the outlet.

Ashley had also expressed safety concerns before the fateful child custody deposition.

“Do you have any private security you recommend?” she texted private investigator Hal De Becker, 8 News Now reported. “Dylan has a ton of guns in that house.”

Ashely’s mother, Julie Page, said she had “lived in constant fear for her safety and that of her children. She battled relentlessly, and unfortunately all our fears became a reality.”

The mom added: “At one point, he went several months without seeing the children, because of drug use. Once he was allowed visitation, he was under supervision. It never seemed to bother him.”

The two children were in the temporary custody of Ashley’s sister Lexie, 27, the Review Journal reported.

Julie said her daughter had at one point been granted what she called a restraining order against her ex-husband, according to Fox 5 Vegas.

In April, 2022, Judge Bill Henderson ordered Dylan Houston to remain at least 100 yards away from Ashley’s home, work and her parents’ home, the outlet reported.

She said the court ordered Dylan to communicate with Ashley only via a court-approved messaging app that allowed officials to monitor the communications.

“Dylan, however, did not stop the abuse and threatening messages, but never faced any consequences from the court,” Julie alleged.

Ashley’s 26-year-old brother, Bryce Page, said his sister was the happiest she had ever been after the recent birth of her daughter.

“Ashley was the most confident, thoughtful and charismatic mother, daughter, and sister,” he said, according to the Review Journal. “Her passion was interior design. Everything she touched she made beautiful.”

On Monday, the Houston family issued a statement about the tragedy.

“We cannot begin to imagine the devastating sense of loss felt by the Page and Prince families. We understand their shock and anger. We, too, are shocked. None of us ever could conceive of our loving father doing something so egregiously out of character,” it said.

“Our hope is that through the darkness, despair and grief, we can focus on the needs of the children. That focus extends to refraining from rebuttals and public accusations. Dylan is a dedicated father and is singularly committed to the welfare of his children. We are hopeful that Dylan and his children will be together soon and we all can begin to heal,” they added.

As recently as last week, Dylan was listed as a partner at Resnick & Louis’ Las Vegas offices’ website, but his name has been removed and a link to his bio page returned a “page not found” error.

He has denied any advance knowledge of his dad’s attack.

The Pages’ attorney, Dana Dwiggins, told the Review Journal that the Princes were “fighting for sole custody of Ashley’s two oldest children” at the time of the shooting.

Dwiggins told reporters that the Pages plane to file a guardianship petition over the children.

Julie Page on Monday said “we are determined to carry on her legacy and fight to ensure the long-term safety of our grandchildren.”

She added: “We are determined to carry on her legacy and fight to ensure the long-term safety of our grandchildren.”
