Multiple shootings in East Oakland leave 2 dead

(OAKLAND, Calif.) Two deadly shootings that happened only four hours apart are currently being investigated by the Oakland Police Department, KTVU reports.

The first shooting took place around 1 a.m. near 55th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Officers discovered a man who had been shot upon arrival at the scene. The officers deployed life saving measures but the man succumbed to his injuries, according to Officer Johnna Watson.

At 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting near the 1400 block of 3rd Street.

Officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. He was pronounced dead, Watson said.
