(SAN FRANCISCO) San Francisco Mayor London Breed said on Monday the city and county have hit a record high of 14,000 coronavirus vaccinations in a single day.

San Francisco initially aimed to administer 10,000 vaccines per day, but now is averaging 11,000 vaccines per day.

KRON 4 reported that about 49% of San Francisco's population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. About 29% of San Francisco's population has been fully vaccinated.

Currently, all adults who are at least 50 years old can get vaccinated, as well as individuals ages 16 or older who have underlying health conditions or work in certain high-risk industries.

By April 15, California expects to open up appointments to all people who are at least 16 years old.
