Champions League round of 16 draw results, games slated for February and March

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the fixtures for its round of 16 in the 2020-21 Champions League tournament Monday.

The 16 teams will face off twice over the course of a month, with games scheduled for Feb. 16-17, 23-24 and March 9-10, 16-17. The Champions League tournament features the top clubs of European soccer, with the round of 16 hosting four German and Spanish teams, three English teams, three Italian teams, and one each from Italy and Portugal.

According to UEFA, the planned schedule for the round of 16 features:

• February 16 & March 10
  Leipzig (GER) vs Liverpool (ENG)
  Barcelona (ESP) vs Paris (FRA)
• February 17 & March 9
  Porto (POR) vs Juventus (ITA)
  Sevilla (ESP) vs Borussia Dortmund (GER)
• February 23 & March 17
  Lazio (ITA) vs Bayern (GER)
  Atlético (ESP) vs Chelsea (ENG)
• February 24 & March 16
  Borussia Mönchengladbach (GER) vs Manchester City (ENG)
  Atalanta (ITA) vs Real Madrid (ESP)

The draw was concluded through two seeding pots, one with eight group stage winners and the other with the runners-up, according to the UEFA website. Teams who were previously in the same group were not paired, a rule also applied to teams from the same country.

The group stage winners will have home-field advantage in the round of 16-second legs.

UEFA allows teams to register three new players by Feb. 2 if they choose to make any squad changes.

The next draw will be for the quarter-finals and the semi-finals which will take place on March 19. The tournament concludes with the final currently scheduled for May 29 in Istanbul.
