MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Have you ever seen the iconic movies “Godfather” and “Goodfellas”? Well, imagine a restaurant that immersed themselves in that era of gangsters and glamour.

The term gangsters call each other, brought to life, at Wiseguy’s Bar and Grill.

Owners Phil Goldman and Laura Biggs wanted to create an atmosphere that took you back in time to that iconic era.

“We definitely wanted to have that speakeasy, dark dive bar feel, of course, because of the gangster wall we have,” Biggs said. “Phil’s imagination comes to life.”

One of the first things that will catch your eye when you walk into Wiseguy’s is the gangster spray-painted wall.

Opening in 2021, they wanted to bring something unique and different to the Grand Strand.

“We like to travel a lot, so we go to places like Vegas and Miami and New York and see these types of bars that aren’t really offered around here,” Biggs said. “So, we wanted to kind of bring that atmosphere to Myrtle Beach as well.”

With the dark, dim setting, you can sit back, relax, and order a drink with their wide variety of liquor and beer selections.

“We have this huge tequila and bourbon selection, so anytime people come in here asking for things — we have everything you’re looking for,” Biggs said.

They offer more than 60 craft beers, seasonal cocktails and a rotating draft list. When it comes to their menu, they have the classics like pizza and wings — to even a donut burger.

Using a glazed donut as a bun, with a triple-cheese smash burger, grilled onions, bacon and their signature sauce, the sweet and salty mixture is out of this world.

Or maybe you want to try their chicken and waffles, made with a special recipe, candied bacon and hot honey.

From the yummy items on the menu to the delicious hand-crafted cocktails, when you step inside — “They are going to make you an offer you can’t refuse.”

“It’s cool to just have the same people every day and make relationships with people and even meet new people,” Biggs said.

You can visit Wiseguy’s Bar and Grill on N. Kings Highway in downtown Myrtle Beach.
