Wisconsin DMV: New special license plates released
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced on Wednesday, May 8 it is now offering two new special license plates. Suicide Prevention. Proceeds from this plate will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a non-profit organization that works to eliminate the loss of life from suicide by delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public, raising funds for suicide research and programs, and reaching out to those who have lost someone to suicide.
UW: Talks with protesters broke down, campus leaders still willing to meet Thursday
MADISON, Wis. -- UW-Madison officials said Wednesday that they are willing to meet again with protest organizers, but that ending the encampment on Library Mall remains a priority after talks between the two groups broke down earlier in the day.
Power outages reported in southern Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Thousands of Alliant Energy customers and We Energies customers were without power Tuesday night as strong storms rolled through southern Wisconsin. Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Alliant Energy reported approximately 1,810 customers affected by power outages. By 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, nearly 400 customers remained without power. Almost all of those customers were located in Walworth County.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is warning of disciplinary action and even arrest for people who disrupt its commencement ceremony this weekend. STORMS AND RAIN WIND DOWN OVERNIGHT
Thunderstorms will remain possible into the night, but the severe threat has diminished. The strongest storms stayed in southern Wisconsin with several tornado warnings issued between Madison and Milwaukee. Rain showers will linger past midnight, but should gradually end across the Northwoods overnight. Lows will dip into the mid 40s to near 50° with partly cloudy skies.
