New West Virginia beer festival coming to Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A new beer festival is making its debut in Morgantown, West Virginia this April and will feature more than 40 different breweries and 100+ beers, ciders, meads and more.

• What: WV BeerFest 2024
• Where: Inside the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park
• When: Saturday, April 20 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Ten of the 35 announced breweries will be from West Virginia. However, one West Virginia brewery on the list announced that it would be closing its doors on March 30 and will likely not be in attendance.

The event will feature three live bands and a special “WV BeerFest Bar,” which is described as a “MASSIVE uniquely designed bar” where guests can sample beer from each of the event’s breweries. The WV BeerFest has also partnered with the Country Roads Trust and a dedicated Country Roads Trust Toast will be held at 4:30 p.m.

According to the event’s website, “WVBF will be your springtime go-to for exclusive and rare beers, one-offs, and special beers you can’t find on store shelves.” A list of beers available at the event will be made available the week before the event.

Tickets for the event are on sale now at the WV BeerFest website ; General Admission will cost $40 and VIP tickets will cost $65. There is also a $20 Designated Driver ticket option for those who want to attend but choose not to drink.

General Admission ticket holders will be able to enter at 2:30 p.m., and VIP ticket holders will be able to get in right at 1 p.m. Cash will be required for tickets, food and other purchases during the event.
