MOOSIC, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two people are being charged after police say they left a baby alone in a car parked at a ShopRite for nearly an hour.

According to the Moosic Police Department, on May 2, officers were called to ShopRite on Birney Avenue for a baby left unattended in a car.

Police say a bystander was able to get the crying baby out of the car before officers arrived and EMS was called to give aid to the victim.

The parents of the victim, Ashley Hargrove, 27, and Calvin Henry, 25, both of Scranton, entered the store around 10:29 a.m. and exited the store around 11:10 a.m. leaving the infant alone in the car for 41 minutes, as stated in the affidavit.

Officers noted on this day temperatures were at 75 degrees and the car was parked where there was no shade covering it.

Both Hargrove and Henry have been charged with child endangerment.
