Despite March levy loss, Fairfield will reinstate busing for students in August
FAIRFIELD – Busing for thousands of students attending classes in the Fairfield school district will return in August. Better than expected revenue - $2.9 million – and lower than projected spending - $3.6 million – has pushed back a $11.1 million deficit projected for June 2027 following the defeat of a 6.9-mill operating levy in March that would have raised $15.9 million annually.
