MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Moncks Corner are investigating a deadly Wednesday night shooting outside a Parker’s Kitchen.

Officers with the Moncks Corner Police Department responded to the gas station/convenience store off U.S. Highway 52 around 10:00 p.m. after Berkeley County Dispatched received a call regarding a shooting.

Two victims were found in the parking lot. Officials said one of the victims was suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds, the other had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment; however, in a Thursday afternoon update, police said one of the victims died at the hospital. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified that person as 31-year-old Evan Dwellen.

Dwellen died at Trident Medical Center.

Adrian Gadsden Jr., 20, of Summerville was arrested Thursday afternoon by Moncks Corner officers and help from the North Charleston Police Department. He is charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Gadsden is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Colton Whitley with the Moncks Corner Police Department at 843-719-7930 or C.Whitley@monckscornersc.gov.
