2 arrested after ‘Dirty 30s’ found in jeep in Montgomery County
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Deputies in Montgomery County arrested two people while patrolling in Independence, Kansas, on May 2. Deputies spotted a black Jeep parked near the Main Street overpass. They recognized the jeep as a suspect vehicle in a narcotics investigation. Quayland Johnson and Trinity Schlegel were inside the jeep, and both had warrants in Montgomery County and were taken into custody.
Mainly dry days ahead with pleasant temps
Storms continue to get pushed to the east ahead of a cold front. Some of the storms are still severe but the Sunflower State is in the clear. Heavy rainfall has swollen some creeks, streams, and rivers in Elk and Greenwood Counties. A Flood Warning was in effect through mid morning.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. — The Dickey Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Dickey's Barbecue Pit, awarded a $11,000 matching grant to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MGSO), which supported the purchase of law-enforcement specific drones used for interior tactical operations.
