    Portage HS scores | May 16: Mogadore, Windham baseball fall in OHSAA sectional finals

    Mogadore lost 4-2 to Triway in a Division III baseball sectional final Thursday.

    Simon Kitchen allowed just two runs (one earned), striking out nine, to pick up the complete-game win for the Titans.

    Jake Hopkins led the Wildcats with two hits.

    Loudonville 12, Windham 2

    Matt Sprang limited the Bombers to two runs (both unearned) and two hits, striking out nine, to pick up the win for the Redbirds. Sprang also went 2 for 2 with three runs.

    Jack Eye and Anthony Paolella both singled for Windham.

    Regular Season

    Southeast 2, Crestwood 1

    Logan Lavigna had a remarkable final game for the Pirates, allowing an unearned run and three hits in 5⅓ innings. Lavigna struck out 10 and added a double at the plate.

    Bradee Blankenship and Cohen Richardson had two hits apiece for Southeast.

    Bobby Bradley had two hits for Crestwood, and Wyatt Januska allowed two runs in six innings.

    Softball

    Southeast 6, Streetsboro 4

    The visiting Pirates broke a tie with two runs in the sixth.

    Miranda Timko struck out nine and earned a complete-game win for Southeast, and Morgan Muncy tripled and Addie Goldstein went 2 for 4. Ava Stephens and Neena Truex led the Pirates with two RBIs apiece.

    Cortney Evert, Olivia Knepper and Hailey Miller had two hits apiece for the Rockets, who got their own complete game in the circle from Sydney Burfield.

    Canton South 13, Southeast 8

    The Pirates lost despite five extra-base hits, including home runs by Izzy Schuller and Ava Stephens, who drove in a team-leading four runs. Schuller also doubled to join Muncy in recording a team-high two hits, and Lexi Morris added a triple for Southeast.
