About That Girl Lay Lay

High got her start in music after her parents began posting videos of her rapping covers of hip-hop and Christian rap songs on YouTube, according to the release.

She then began writing songs and putting them on YouTube.

High signed a recording contract with Fresh Rebel Musik in 2018 and recorded her debut album, “Tha Cheat Code,” and a single, “Go, Lay Lay, Go,” according to the release.

She was invited to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2019 and then the Nickelodeon All-Star Nickmas Holiday Spectacular in 2020.

In 2019, High signed a deal with Nickelodeon to “develop original multi-platform programming, music initiatives, and build a consumer product business catering to children and teens, and highlighting young actors and creative artists,” the release said.

Part of that deal gave High her own television series — That Girl Lay Lay — where she plays “an artificially intelligent avatar on a phone app that comes to life as a human teen girl.”

Tickets to the show will go on sale Friday, April 26 at 11 a.m. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
