Mother of nightclub murder victim sues the city of Prichard, club owner
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -The mother of a man shot and killed at a Prichard nightclub on Mother’s Day wants more people held accountable for her son’s death. Mary Blevins filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the owner of Lotus Gentlemen’s Club, the people who own the building and the city of Prichard. The suit claimed the defendants didn’t provide a safe environment.
Alabama Senate passes bill after quadruple homicide in Daphne
DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) - FOX 10 spoke to State Representative Matt Simpson about legislation passed following a quadruple homicide earlier this year in Daphne. In February, 21-year-old Jared Tarant Smith-Bracy was charged with capital murder after admitting to killing his brother, grandparents and a family friend. Daphne Police say the bodies were found in the Lake Forest area of Daphne. Investigators say Smith-Bracy used a pickax during the brutal attack against one of the victims.
Mobile man charged with rape, assault after woman runs to safety in Perdido Key
A 51-year-old Mobile man is in the Escambia County (Fla.) Jail, charged with raping and assaulting a woman over the course of two days in April in Perdido Key. Herman Moore is additionally charged with kidnapping, battery and obstruction of justice. He was taken into custody Wednesday, nearly six weeks after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

A man was arrested Wednesday, nearly a month after police say he fired a weapon in an attempt to break up a fight between two women, but instead wounded three others. Michael Okeef Royal, 34, is in the Mobile Metro Jail, charged with three counts of 1st-degree assault.
