MidAmerican Energy assessing power outages following Tuesday storms, tornadoes
(KMAland) -- MidAmerican Energy officials are assessing the damage and power outages caused by severe storms and tornadoes Tuesday morning and afternoon. Much of KMAland was dealt two rounds of severe weather Tuesday as after an initial system came through early in the morning, a second line of storms roared through the region, spawning multiple tornadoes in southwest Iowa. MidAmerican Energy Spokesperson Tina Hoffman says that, as of late Tuesday afternoon, over 700 customers were without power following the outbreak.
CAF Great Plains Wing Welcomes 1946 Fairchild PT-19 Arrival
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Great Plains Wing (GPW) has recently acquired a 1946 Fairchild PT-19. Purchased in 2023, the aircraft has been officially assigned to the Wing, based in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Known for previously hosting the iconic P-51 Gunfighter, the Unit has been actively seeking ways to keep its members engaged in aviation projects.
