MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — There are now fewer than 140 days until the start of the largest Scandinavian festival in all of North America — and while the announcement of major performers like Trace Adkins, Ryan Bingham, and Jay Leno has already built plenty of excitement, the acts aren’t the only thing attendees can look forward to.

In addition to the typical array of vendors and activities, event leaders say there will be many changes and new additions to this year’s Høstfest — all of which come from suggestions made by previous visitors.

“If you are familiar with the general store,” the event’s Executive Director Alexis Meyers explained, “we are bringing back a version of that called our Nordic Market, where you’ll be able to buy specialty Norwegian cheeses, meats, and goods. We are also expanding our Viking Village, and that is going to be over in the park across from the arena.”

The lutefisk competition will also be returning for a second year, and take place twice over the span of Høstfest 2024.
