MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Chappy Windsor is the owner of Dakota Chappy, a unique clothing boutique located in Minot, North Dakota. Dakota Chappy is the home to the “total tight” and “total jean” which Chappy has invented.
“Well, I really want people to understand that when they come to our store, they’re going to have a different experience than they otherwise would. And it’s really the reason to come see me, because we have tools. I am a fashion inventor and I’m a fashion engineer, so there are things that exist here that don’t exist anywhere else that put more on the table, more options for you, more versatility for you. I hear women say all the time, I like this, but I don’t. And then they fill in the blank and they, they are so quick to eliminate things and that checks out. That’s reasonable to me, but I’m here to circumvent all of the things that you’re checking out and make them wearable,” said Dakota Chappy Windsor, owner of Dakota Chappy.
Chappy says they cater to your every shopping need so you feel comfortable when shopping, exploring, and trying on. She says they had a lot more people shopping online in the past, but it’s become much more popular to have shoppers in-store once again.
“It is spring. We are styling people for trips. I had a lady come in last week — seven day trip. We did the entire trip, start to finish. Yes, like what she was wearing on the plane, what she was wearing to bed, what she was wearing for a zoo, you know, hiking, dinners, like we did the whole entire trip. So we can do that. We’ve been doing lots of graduations, which I love doing mother of the graduate, grandmother of a graduate. We do mother of the brides. I did a gala yesterday for a lady that’s going to New York for a gala. And so at this store, we have an incredible depth of inventory in terms of style, in terms of occasion, and in terms of size up to 5X in a lot of our things. So it’s, this is, I always tell people, you can literally do an entire mall’s worth of shopping in one trip and I will stand beside you and do all of the work. So you can just try things on,” said Chappy Windsor, owner of Dakota Chappy.
Chappy offers many fashion pieces that are exclusive to her store, and she hopes you come inside to see for yourself.
“This is the birthplace of fashion innovation. It’s happening in Minot, North Dakota. I’ve been at this now for almost two decades. And just be proud of your state, be proud of where you’re from, be proud to be able to shop local and find phenomenal things that other places don’t exist. And people, you know, this is the envy of many people. So many people that are in North Dakota say, I wish I lived in North Dakota so I could shop at Dakota Chappy.
