Lake County teen earns worldwide Air Force JROTC honor
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A Mount Dora High School teen and rising senior has been named the Air Force/Space Force JROTC Cadet of the Year, according to a news release. Officials said Cadet Peyton Scott, Mount Dora Air Force JROTC, competed against 850 other units from around the world and was chosen ahead of more than 30,000 other cadets to earn the distinction.

Genneil Brown is graduating from Wekiva High School. She is a dedicated member of the chorus, where she sings solos and also sings with the ensemble. She's on the tennis team and yearbook committee. Registration Now Open For LSSC Kids’ College 2024
Lake Sumter State College – We are happy to announce Kids’ College 2024 registration is open! Early College Programs would like to invite you and the youth in your life to take advantage of this amazing college preparation opportunity. Kids’ College is a series of “camps” taking place at LSSC Leesburg, LSSC South Lake, and (new) Four Corners at Lake Pointe Academy in June and July. These camps vary in length, theme, and class offerings. Kids from 1st to 12th grade can participate. Please find the attached Kids’ College schedule for dates, times, and locations.
