Anthony Edwards Issues Blunt Message to Teammates Before Mavs-Timberwolves Game 1

Anthony Edwards has become the biggest name in basketball in just a few short weeks. Thanks to his sensational play, the Minnesota Timberwolves swept the Suns in the first round before beating Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in seven games. Now, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks await Edwards in the Western Conference Finals.

This is a rare opportunity for Edwards, in particular. Reaching the Western Conference Finals might not happen again for a long time. Just ask Mike Conley, who last reached the conference finals when he was 24 years old (he's 36 now).

Edwards, as a result, isn't taking this opportunity for granted. Beating the Suns and Nuggets doesn't matter much if the Timberwolves can't reach the NBA Finals and win a title.

The 22-year-old NBA superstar is going to give it everything he has, once again, to take down the Mavericks. He's expecting the same of his teammates, like Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.

"Leave everything on the court," Edwards said ahead of Wednesday night's Game 1.

"Leave nothing up for grabs," Edwards added. "Give it your whole effort, all your energy. Like you said, I don't know when I'll be back here. Mike Conley said he was here when he was like 24. It's been a minute. Hopefully, we make the most of it."

The Timberwolves battle the Mavericks at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT. The winner advances to the NBA Finals.
