The Minnesota Vikings officially have their schedule released for the 2024 National Football League season. Now that the schedule is out, we can dive into what things will look like for the Vikings in 2024.

How the schedule shapes up can determine a lot about how well a team does during the regular season. If you get a team that happens to be without their starting quarterback or on a losing streak, it can help you win more football games. On the flip side, if you end up on the reverse side of that, it can hinder you from taking things to the next level.

How does each game of the 2024 season shape up? Here is a quick breakdown of each game and its position on the schedule.

Minnesota Vikings 2024 schedule instant analysis

Week 1: September 8th at New York Giants

The last time these two teams met, the Vikings lost 31-24 in the wild-card round. Daniel Jones had his way with Ed Donatell, but Brian Flores will be ready for him.

Week 2: September 15th vs San Francisco 49ers

The Vikings upset the 49ers 22-17 in 2023 and Sam Darnold could very well be starting against his former team. Last season, the 49ers played without Trent Williams and his presence could be a big addition.

Week 3: September 22nd vs Houston Texans

The return of Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs to U.S. Bank Stadium overshadows one of the best young quarterbacks in C.J. Stroud coming to town.

Week 4: September 29th at Green Bay Packers

The border battle is always a great game and the Lambeau Field matchup being in warmer weather bodes well for the Vikings.

Week 5: October 6th versus New York Jets in London

A little bit weird that the schedule doesn't have Aaron Rodgers returning to U.S. Bank Stadium, but this could end up being a really good game.

    Week 6: October 13th Bye

The Vikings have had their bye later in the year over the last two seasons but having one after the London game isn't a bad thing.

Week 7: October 20th vs Detroit Lions

Having two weeks to prepare for a tough as nails Lions team will be a huge benefit for the Vikings, especially with the game being at home.

Week 8: October 24th at Los Angeles Rams (TNF)

The first primetime game for the Vikings has Kevin O'Connell facing off against his former boss Sean McVay.

Week 9: November 3rd vs Indianapolis Colts

The last time the Colts were in town, Andrew Luck was the starting quarterback and whipped the Vikings 34-6. The Vikings hope they can hold Anthony Richardson to less success.

Week 10: November 10th at Jacksonville Jaguars

The first of three consecutive road games has the Vikings trying to stop Trevor Lawrence. Flores will have his hands full in Jacksonville.

Week 11: November 17th at Tennessee Titans

What kind of Titans team will the Vikings end up facing in November will be solely on how good Will Levis is.

Week 12: November 24th at Chicago Bears

The Bears are always a difficult ask in Soldier Field and Caleb Williams might be well into a rookie of the year type season.

Week 13: December 1st vs Arizona Cardinals

After three consecutive road games, the Vikings get three at home with the Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray coming to town.

Week 14: December 8th vs Atlanta Falcons

The return of Kirk Cousins will be emotional and have fans fired up.

Week 15: December 15th vs Chicago Bears

Game two against Williams. How will Flores adjust his attack?

Week 16: December 22nd at Seattle Seahawks

A December game against the Seahawks could mean bad weather. Hopefully, they figure it out and can get a win against a team they may be fighting for a wild card spot with.

Week 17: December 29th vs Green Bay Packers

The last two week 17 games against the Green Bay Packers had the Vikings losing by 24 and 23. Can the Vikings find a way to both win and show up against their biggest rival?

Week 18: January 5th at Detroit Lions

Could this game decide the division or a playoff spot? This could mean a lot for the NFC playoff race.
