"He is more like Wade with a jump shot" - Reggie Miller on why he doesn't agree with the Ant-MJ comparison

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is playing so well in the playoffs that almost everyone is comparing him to Michael Jordan.

Ant-Man was so dominant in round one against the Suns that even Kevin Durant praised him before the series was over. As the Timberwolves advanced to Round 2, Edwards lit up the Nuggets with a 43-point explosion, including fadeaways and dunks that reminded fans of the great MJ once again.

But while the Jordan comps are everywhere for Anthony, Indiana Pacers Hall of Famer Reggie Miller isn't about to crown Edwards as the next Michael.

"There's that similarity with MJ, but I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and say he's the next Jordan because we tried to do that with Kobe, and Kobe was probably the closest thing," said Miller on the ' Dan Patrick Show .'

Fascination with finding the next Jordan

According to Reggie, people are fascinated with trying to find the next MJ. Once a special kid arrives and his game resembles Mike's, they always end up comparing him to the Bulls legend. In the past, there was Kobe and Vince Carter. Right now, that kid is Ant.

To Edwards' credit, Reggie pointed out several correlations between his game and MJ's. Miller mentioned the movement, the shots, the fadeaways, and how Ant-Man approaches the defensive end of the court. But while there are plenty of similarities, Uncle Reg says that Anthony is more similar to another all-time great shooting guard than Jordan.

"I would say he is more like Dwyane Wade with a jump shot because he's not as tall as Mike. Mike was about 6'5", 6'6", Anthony Edwards is about 6'4" but he is more in the Flash category but with a better jump shot," added Miller.

Ant is in the Flash Category

Looking closely at Miller's comparison, Ant-Man and D-Wade do have some striking similarities. Both are listed at 6'4'' and have the same body type. Both also have explosive athleticism, which allows them to attack the basket effectively. With their stocky frames, they can also finish with contact.

However, as Miller pointed out, the 22-year-old Edwards has the jump shot that Wade had to develop throughout his career. Ant has consistently shown that during the current postseason, hitting mid-range jumpers and fadeaways almost at will against both the Suns and Nuggets.

Whether he resembles MJ or D-Wade more, the Timberwolves could care less as long as Edwards is dominating the game. Anthony averaged 31.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game against Phoenix.

He has now recorded 35.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals per contest through the first two games against the Nuggets, as Minnesota has taken a 2-0 lead over the defending champions. If he prolongs this run, Ant could really make his name even bigger than it is right now.
