Five women were injured in a Minneapolis crash that happened near an exit ramp off Interstate 94.

The Minneapolis Police Department said the single-vehicle rollover happened near Dowling Avenue N. and the exit ramp from eastbound I-94 just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

A Toyota RAV4 was found by officers with "severe damage leaning on its side against a telephone pole." Police arrived to find three women on the ground outside of the Toyota, having been ejected.

Another woman was found partially ejected through the windshield and a fifth woman was trapped inside the SUV.

Life-saving measures were provided by officers until Minneapolis firefighters and EMS personnel arrived at the scene to take over.

Three of the women suffered life-threatening injuries and the other two had minor injuries.

Two victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and the other three were taken to North Memorial for further treatment.

The ages of those involved are 24, 25, 25, 28 and 26, with the latter being the driver.

MPD says an investigation remains ongoing to determine if intoxication was a factor. No arrests have been made.
