Colorado man arrested after traffic stop in Jackson County
MAYETTA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Colorado man was arrested in connection with drug possession following a traffic stop Monday in Jackson County, authorities said. The arrest came shortly after 5 a.m. Monday when a Jackson County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop near 142nd and US-75 highway. The location was about 2 miles south of Mayetta.

CBI deactivates alert for missing 83-year-old Greeley woman, located safely
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued an alert for a missing Greeley woman last seen Tuesday. Dorothy Smiley, 83, was spotted before 7 p.m. driving between Wellington and Carr, Colorado.
Man dies at Eldora Mountain Resort
First responders were called to Eldora Mountain Resort on Thursday for a medical emergency. A 52-year-old man was assisting with trail maintenance when a tree fell on him. He suffered life-threatening injuries. Ski patrol administered medical care but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Search efforts continue for Lucas Macaj
Lucas Macaj was reported missing after not returning from a hike up Longs Peak on Sunday. His friend said Macaj texted him around 1 p.m. that he had reached the summit. Search and rescue efforts have continued since Monday and were hindered Tuesday due to strong winds, white out conditions and low visibility. On Wednesday, rescue crews reviewed aerial reconnaissance photos taken on Monday to search for possible clues to Macaj's whereabouts.
