Hail in Ballinger Saturday afternoon
ABILENE, Texas — A severe thunderstorm developed west of Ballinger, Texas and moved through the city about 4 pm Saturday afternoon. A lone severe thunderstorm tracked from near Robert Lee to Ballinger to Coleman to near Brownwood on Saturday afternoon, leaving behind a swath of hail damage and very heavy rain. There were numerous reports of various sizes of hail in Runnels County with tree leaves and tree limbs down in the town. We still have a good chance for showers and storms again on Sunday, but this time they should begin early in the day, perhaps around sunrise through the noon hour. Again, one or two could be strong storms with hail a threat.
