The June Map of the Month shows the 1948 flood in Lancaster. This flash flood occurred after 8 inches of rain fell in a matter of a few hours. As a result of this flood, the Hunters Run Conservancy District was created in 1952. The HRCD owns and operates 28 structures that control the runoff from a large portion of the Hunter's Run and Upper Hocking River Watershed.
