Smyrna man arrested on felony shoplifting charges
LEWES, Del. – A Smyrna man has been arrested on charges stemming from shoplifting incidents in two counties. Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, troopers were called to Lowes, located at 20364 Plantations Road in Lewes, for a reported shoplifting. Before arriving at the store, troopers were told that a man was in the store stealing merchandise and fled on foot. After obtaining a suspect description, troopers found him at the bus stop near the store and took him into custody. He was identified as 44-year-old Augustine Haymond.

One injured in late-night Dover shooting
DOVER, Del. – A shooting late Monday night left one person injured in Dover. Police say they were called to the unit block of South New Street at around 10:45 p.m. for a report of shots fired. It was discovered that a home occupied by a 60-year-old and 70-year-old was damaged, but neither was injured. While police were at the scene, they learned that a 24-year-old Dover man had arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus with a gunshot wound to his arm.
