Miners baseball, softball squads find out their postseason fate
When the playoff bracket was revealed Wednesday at 10 a.m., the Miners baseball and softball squads found out their postseason fates. May 9 and 10, the baseball squad must face the winner of Pine View and Sky View. The softball girls will face Tooele this Friday and Saturday. The baseball series will be the super regionals, to be hosted by Park City, and for softball, the regionals, to be played on the road.

High school girls golf: 4A region recaps — Uintah, Cedar, Park City, Ridgeline claim region titles
The 4A girls golf regular season came to a close this week with the final region tournaments of the season. The focus now shifts to the 4A state tournament next Wednesday and Thursday at Talons Cove Golf Course. Uintah (Region 8), Cedar City (Region 9), Park City (Region 10) and Ridgeline (Region 11) all won their respective region titles. Pine View heads into next week’s state tournament as the defending champ, but it finished third in Region 9 and faces an uphill climb in its quest for a fourth-straight state championship. The four individual region champs were Orem’s Kaylee Westfall, Pine View’s Alyssa Butterfus, Stansbury’s Kamry Bryan and Ridgeline’s Maddie Fujimoto.

SALT LAKE CITY – The third installment of the “History of Utah Hockey” series is about the sport’s “side hustle,” roller hockey. The Utah Rollerbees were one of 12 teams to play in the initial season of Roller Hockey International in 1993. Like most teams in the RHI, the Rollerbees’ roster featured minor league hockey players, mostly Salt Lake Golden Eagles, like Rich Chernomaz, Rick Lessard, Brett and Todd Harkins, and Paul Skidmore.
