Events coming up this week around the Basin

PERMIAN BASIN (KMID/KPEJ) – Here are some of the events coming up this week across the Basin for the week of May 12th.

Tuesday, May 14th

• The Sibley Nature Center will be hosting its “Tales and Trails” interactive story-time program from 9:30am to 10:30am for children between two and four years of age. Children listen to stories, play games, create crafts, and walk on the trails.  You can learn more and register here .

Wednesday, May 15th

• The Reeves County Commissioner’s Court will be hosting presentations at 5pm about a proposed $47 million waterpark. Residents are encouraged to attend and provides suggestions, concerns, or support for the project. You can learn more here .
• Workforce Solutions Permian Basin will be hosting a job fair in the Warren Center in Big Spring between 1:30pm and 5pm, featuring several different employers. The fair is free and open to the public. You can learn more here .
• Spectrum of Solutions will be hosting its “Children’s Therapy Center Summer Social” event from 5:30pm to 7pm at Inspiration Park in Midland. Friends and family are invited, with light refreshments and snacks being provided. You can learn more here .

Friday, May 17th

• The Pecos Police Department will be honoring law enforcement officers who have passed away in the line of duty at its annual fallen officer memorial service, starting at 9am. The event is free and open to the public. You can learn more here .
• The Town of Pecos City’s Youth Advisory Commission will be putting on its annual graduation parade to honor the achievements of the senior class of 2024. The parade will begin at 6pm with seniors lining up at Pecos City Hall at 5pm. You can learn more about the route here .

Saturday, May 18th

• The Midland Downtown Famers Market will be taking place from 8am to noon at 404 N Colorado Street. A variety of vendors will be there selling a lot of different products. You can learn more here .
