Date set for special storm brush collection in City of Middleton

MIDDLETON, Wis. -- Debris cleanup from Tuesday's severe weather may take some time to complete. The City of Middleton has set a date for residents to make available the collected debris and other damaged materials for pick-up.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, collection crews will begin to travel the city to pick up the debris.

According to the city, the collection will continue as long as there is a need in all city areas.

For crew safety, at properties with more than one street frontage, residents are asked to place brush along the street with the least amount of traffic (for instance, not along a County highway).

Brush is considered as hard limbs from trees and shrubs.

Limbs or branches must not exceed six inches in diameter. Residents must place brush parallel to the curb, with all cut ends pointing to the right as you face the street. Brush must not be placed in the city streets, and brush mixed with leaves and other materials will not be collected.

Residents are also asked to avoid conflicts with trees, poles, hydrants, mailboxes, parked cars, and other obstructions.
