Georgia Southern awarded $600,000 to lower equity gaps, increase graduation rates for low-income students
Students at Georgia Southern University now have even more opportunities to excel with the help of two new grants from the National Institute for Student Success (NISS) at Georgia State University totaling up to $600,000. Bulloch Solutions announces annual meeting and report
Join Bulloch Solutions for their 2024 Annual Meeting Thursday, May 23rd, at 1pm at Connection Church, located at 1342 Cawana Road in Statesboro. All Co-Op members should make plans to attend. Registration for the Annual Meeting will begin promptly at noon and will close at 1pm. Annual Meeting attendance is imperative for continued success of Bulloch Telephone Co-Op. Why does a Telephone Cooperative Meeting matter to me? Member attendance at the Annual Meeting matters for a number of reasons, but primarily for the continued operation of the cooperative in general. Members and guests will hear an update on the progress of the Co-Op. Presentations include reports on the financial statements from the year prior, highlights from plans on what’s ahead for the company, and successes and challenges from the last year. And perhaps most importantly, Bulloch Solutions employs locals and invests back into the community. Plus, there will be a host of prizes for those who attend. For starters, the attendees will receive a one-time $50 credit on their monthly bill. Among the other prizes up for grabs are gift cards from local restaurants and businesses and a $500 cash prize! Huey Magoo’s Statesboro is the 63rd restaurant opening company-wide, spanning 12 states, with hundreds more franchises currently sold in 13 states. The 3,200 square foot, free-standing restaurant features an outdoor patio and double drive-thru. This is the second of eight to 10 Huey Magoo’s restaurants to open in Georgia and Tennessee, joining Milledgeville, under the franchise group led by Tom Scarborough and Jeramie Martin. Statesboro officer back at work after fentanyl exposure
The Statesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting where a victim, who had been shot twice, would not cooperate with officers after suffering non-fatal wounds. Officers also say that the victim was also in possession of suspected fentanyl.
