Shooting in Southeast D.C. leaves MPD searching for suspect
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is calling on the community to help find a suspect in a shooting that took place May 20 in the Southeast section of Washington, D.C. At approximately 3:45 p.m., on May 20 a shooting took place on the 800 block of Yuma Street, in Southeast, D.C. The victim was walking down the block when the suspect fired a handgun from inside of a moving vehicle, striking the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.

Person spotted allegedly attempting to cut Pride flag in Arlington; Arrest made
ARLINGTON, Va. — An arrest has been made after a person was caught trying to cut down a Pride flag in Arlington Friday morning. Officers with the Arlington County Police Department responded to South Four Mile Run Drive, off of South George Mason Drive, just after 9:50 a.m. after a report of destruction of property. When they arrived, a witness informed them that a male allegedly was seen tampering with a Pride flag that was attached to a flagpole by trying to cut it free.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Two Alexandria Police Officers saved the life of a newborn that was found not breathing and without a heartbeat. Police received a frantic 9-1-1 call just minutes after midnight from a frantic caller stating a newborn baby was lifeless when an Alexandria woman suddenly gave birth.
