MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Three people have been arrested on various robbery and assault charges after police say they shot a man and stole his vehicle last year.
The Meriden Police Department responded to the area of Casimer Dr. on Sept. 9 at around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met with a male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg.
Officials began rendering aid to the victim’s leg and he was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities launched an investigation and three people were arrested this month: 25-year-old Don Drepaul, 24-year-old Tiffani Mancuso-Masse, and 33-year-old Alexavier Delgado.
Police say Drepaul refused to cooperate, therefore a mugshot of him is not available.
The same day the incident took place, Drepaul was swiftly identified as a suspect, but he managed to elude officials for almost seven months. Meriden police, with assistance from Vernon and Manchester police departments as well as the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the New Haven State’s Attorney Office, was able to locate Drepaul.
Drepaul, who is a convicted felon, was found in Vernon in the vehicle that he stole in Sept. Officials also found a gun and illegal narcotics.
His charges are as follows:
Assault in the first degree
Robbery in the first degree
Conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree
Theft of a firearm
Conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm
Larceny of a motor vehicle
Conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle
Criminal possession of a firearm
Criminal use of a firearm
Drepaul is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
On April 19, Mancuso-Masse was arrested and is being held on a bond of $250,000 for charges of:
Robbery in the first degree
Conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree
Theft of a firearm
Conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm
Larceny of a motor vehicle
Conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle
On April 25, Delgado appeared in court for an unrelated case and was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and violating a protective order. He has a bond of $500,000.
