Last year, 901 Hot Pot & Korean BBQ announced plans to expand their flagship Bartlett restaurant into an adjacent space . With that expansion now complete, they’re gearing up to launch their second location at 868 Mt Moriah Rd in East Memphis , taking over the former site of National Security & Trust Co.

Memphis Business Journal reports that the freestanding, two-story site will feature a kitchen situated in the former bank’s vault, as well as two private dining rooms.

The design of the upstairs area pays homage to the bank’s history while simulatenously infusing a stylish “mid-century supper club” atmosphere to the space. Adorned with marble tile walls and wood accents, this level will house private dining spaces and a bar.

Daniel Ellington, a spokesperson for 901 Hot Pot, told Memphis Business Journal that the owners were initially attracted to the East Memphis location due to the significant amount of foot traffic the area sees. However, the project has faced numerous setbacks, such as plumbing issues and required building code updates, pushing back its completion by three months.

At the original 901 Hot Pot, guests can enjoy a unique dining experience where they cook their own food in a pot of broth or on a tabletop grill. The menu offers an extensive all-you-can-eat selection, featuring a variety of noodles, dumplings, vegetables, prime beef, seafood, pork belly, chicken, and more. Additionally, diners can customize their meals with a diverse sauce bar offering around 20 different sauces and toppings.

An official opening date for the new 901 Hot Pot & Korean BBQ location has yet to be announced, so stay tuned for further updates as the project continues to unfold.
