Threat from Beryl postpones dedication of McMullen County Veterans Memorial
The dedication of the McMullen County Veterans Memorial in Tilden will have to wait just a little longer. Because of the projected path of Hurricane Beryl, the dedication has been postponed until July 31 at 10:00 a.m. Plans for the dedication ceremony remain the same and include distinguished speakers, a formal presentation of colors, wreath-laying ceremony and unveiling of plaques.

After months of arduous work and much reflection, McMullen County will dedicate the Veterans Memorial on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the site located at 3040 Hwy. 16 in Tilden. Community members, veterans, and their families are invited to join the event to honor the sacrifice and commitment of local veterans who served in the Armed Forces.
