Thunder Road driver working to become first woman to win rookie of the year
BARRE, Vt. — It's only been four years since Taylor Hoar first got behind the wheel of her own racecar, but quickly she's gained a following as a trailblazer in the sport. Hoar is going to be the first woman in over a decade to race in Thunder Road's late model division. Previously, Hoar raced in the street stock division. She'll get to compete for rookie of the year honors, trying to become the first woman to do so.

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Authorities and school officials are trying to figure out what prompted a lockdown at U-32 High School late Thursday morning. Road Work | May 20-24
Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS), Waterbury Public Works, and other local highway departments. Work is under way now on Guptil Road on Bridge 4 (actually the third bridge from Rt. 100 heading to Waterbury Center) just south of the Kneeland Flats Road intersection. The town road crew asks motorists to please slow down traveling through the narrow work zone. The road will remain open during the rehab project which is expected to take until mid-July to be completed.
