MCHENRY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man was arrested Monday moments after allegedly robbing a bank.

McHenry Police said 36-year-old Peter Sova walked into the Huntington Bank branch on Bull Valley Road at about 10:45 a.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money.

They said the teller believed he had a gun and gave him cash. He was caught nearby, police said, on the property of a church.

Police learned that he had left his nine-month-old son home alone while allegedly robbing the bank.

Officers picked up the infant.  Sova is charged with aggravated robbery, theft and child abandonment.

The infant was released to the mother.
