    Bradshaw to Host Second Mud Event

    MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – What started in 2023 at “Hometown Trail Days” is now “Mountain Mud”, an event guaranteed to entertain McDowell County residents, friends, and visitors beginning on Friday, May 17 th , in Bradshaw, WV.

    Mountain Mud’s events will include:

    • ATV/SXS/Dirt Bike grudge matches & drag races
    • ATV/SXS Mud Obstacle Course
    • Human Mud Obstacle Course
    • Musical Entertainment
    • Lawn Mower Drag Race
    • Power Wheels Drag Race
    • RC Car Race
    • Poker Run
    • Mud Man Scavenger Hunt

    The ATV/SXS/Dirt Bike grudge matches and drag races will include machines of different sizes and racing for all ages.  Adults and children will be allowed to contend for first place according to their atv/sxs/bike size and age.

    The ATV/SXS Mud Obstacle Course is a track laid out to test each rider’s driving abilities and machine capabilities.

    The human mud obstacle participants (which can compete as individuals or teams of 4) will need to complete an army crawl, climbing wall, tire flip, mud balance beam, and a run for the finish in the mud pit. The team with the best time will receive their entry fee of $50 along with 25% of combined entry fees to be donated to a local charity of their choice.  Registration will begin at 12 pm Saturday.

    Mountain Mud will kick off registration at 4 pm on Friday with events beginning at 5 pm.  Events will include grudge matches, drag races, obstacle course, timed obstacle course, and human mud run.  Beginning at 6 pm, Lily Comer, songwriter and musician originally from Welch will begin musical entertainment until 8 pm.  At that time, Rickey Coxton, songwriter and musician from Honaker, Virginia will entertain until 10 pm.

    Saturday will be a full day including a parade (with Miss Mountain Mud 2024 Kylie Newberry as marshall), poker run, Mud Monster Scavenger Hunt, races to include lawn mowers, power wheels, remote control cars, drag races, grudge matches, obstacle course, and human mud run.  Registration for the Mud Pit events begins at 12 pm.  Music entertainment will begin at 6 pm with Keith Rife and Alex Blankenship, local musicians known as “Two of a Kind”.  At 8 pm, Jolo native Robert Hale and his band, Detour, will entertain the crowd until 10 pm.

    Sunday will be “Sunday Funday”.  Events include power wheels, rc car races, grudge matches, obstacle courts, and drag races.  Sunday will be for children ages 3-12 only and registration begins at 12 pm.
