A developer proposes stores selling auto parts and window treatments to replace a brewery and food market that the Stafford Township zoning board denied in 2023 for a plot of land on Route 72 in Stafford.

Sicklerville 505 LLC proposes to construct two buildings, according to documents filed with the township Planning Board. One is 6,912 square feet for an Advanced Auto Parts store, according to plans. The other is a proposed 5,500-square-foot Blinds to Go store.

A hearing date has not yet been set.

The project is slated for a 1.42-acre piece of land on Route 72 westbound near the Route 9 interchange.

In 2023, the zoning board turned away a proposal to construct a 5,000-square-foot building for a brewery and tasting room. A 4,000-square-foot market building, which was proposed for use by up to six tenants who would sell food and beverages, also was a part of the plan. A brewery was not a permitted use in the area.

    Out and about

Bellazio Salon Suites has signed a lease for a 5,608-square-foot storefront at Broad Street Plaza, located at Broad Street and Route 34 in Matawan, according to Joseph D. Morris, executive vice president at Edgewood Properties.

Broad Street Plaza also includes the Edge at Matawan, which has 130 apartments, and other tenants including Lightbridge Academy, Walgreens and Just Love, a coffee roaster.

Bellazio Salon Suites offers suites for lease by health and beauty professionals and expects to open this summer, according to its website.
