Portage NASCAR driver to headline tornado relief event for his hometown
KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A 21-year-old NASCAR driver who grew up in Portage is coming home to headline a tornado relief fundraiser. Carson Hocevar, rookie driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series, will help raise money for people in Portage hit by an EF-2 tornado on May 7. Money raised will help cover tornado damage costs not covered by insurance for community members, via the Kalamazoo Community Foundation.
